1. Overview and Core Philosophy

ViveScript Solutions LLC ("we", "our", or "us") built BD Tools & Calculator as an offline-first, lightweight, privacy-respecting Android utility toolbox.

BD Tools & Calculator does not require an account, does not require user registration, and does not operate any backend server to collect or store your calculations, photos, or personal data.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, postal addresses, or government identification numbers, and the app contains no login or registration system. All calculator inputs (loan amounts, birth dates, BMI measurements, land records, currency amounts) are computed locally on your device and are never sent to us. All images processed with the Image Compressor and all QR codes scanned or generated remain strictly within your device's memory.

3. Information Handled Locally on Your Device

The app uses standard Android local storage (DataStore and SharedPreferences) to persist your preferences locally: selected language, theme preference, favorite and recently used tools, and cached currency exchange rates. This data never leaves your device and is removed if you uninstall the app or clear app data.

4. Optional User-Owned Google Gemini AI Integration

BD Tools & Calculator provides an optional AI feature allowing users to receive qualitative explanations of calculations. The application does not include a developer API key — users may optionally supply their personal Google Gemini API key, which is encrypted using AES-256-GCM via the Android KeyStore system and never sent to ViveScript Solutions LLC.

When you explicitly request an AI explanation, your device communicates directly with Google's Gemini API using your personal key, governed by Google's Privacy Policy. The app never contacts Gemini in the background or during normal offline calculations.

5. Device Permissions and Usage

BD Tools & Calculator requests only the minimum permissions necessary:

• Camera: Required strictly for live QR code scanning and the Flashlight utility. Video is processed in real time in memory and never saved or transmitted.
• Vibrate: Haptic feedback when toggling the flashlight or decoding a QR code.
• Internet: Required for optional Gemini AI requests, currency rate updates, and displaying advertisements.

Media selection for the Image Compressor and QR scanner uses Android's zero-permission system Photo Picker — the app does not request storage or media library permissions.

6. Advertising & Third-Party SDKs (Google AdMob)

BD Tools & Calculator integrates Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) to display non-intrusive banner advertisements. AdMob may collect and process pseudonymous identifiers, such as the Android Advertising ID, app performance logs, and device diagnostic data to serve ads in compliance with Google's policies.

You can reset or delete your advertising identifier at any time via Settings > Google > Ads > Delete advertising ID. More information: Google's Privacy & Terms.

7. Data Security

We implement hardware-backed encryption via Android KeyStore for user-supplied secrets, secure HTTPS/TLS transport for all network communication, and sandboxed local storage inaccessible to other applications.

8. Children's Privacy

This application does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the European Economic Area). Because the app does not collect personal data, it does not solicit or process information from children.
